Mr. J. H. Nott
Residents of town and district
were saddened over the week end,
when word was received, that a
member of one of the original
pioneering families of Dunedoo, Mr.
John Henry Nott, of 'North Shore',
had passed away after a short ill-
ness, at the advanced age of 70
years.
Born on the property selected by
his father, the late John Nott in
1866, deceased resided there all his
life. A very successful man in pur-
suits of farming and grazing, he
was one of those stalwarts that did
so much to pioneer the wheat and
wool industry for Australia, and the
Central Slopes of New South Wales
in particular. He was a hard wor-
ker, and fair to a fault towards his
employees and any confederate in
business dealings. About the year
1914, he married Miss Ada Yeo,
daughter of the late John Yeo, of
'Wattle Vale', Dunedoo. The mar-
riage was blessed with four sons,
Cecil, Victor, Allen and Lester, who
together with their mother, are left
ot mourn.
Deceased was the member of a
family of three sons, and six daugh-
ters. Brothers are Herbert (Dune-
doo) and the late Edward Nott, and
sisters Mrs Harry Yeo (Dunedoo),
Mrs Francis Davidson (Bexley),
Mrs Eddie McWhirter (Bexley) Mrs
George New (Wyong), Mrs G. J.
Nott (Dunedoo) and the late Mrs
Dan Lewis (Dunedoo). Our sincere
condolences are offered to the
bereaved family and relatives.
The funeral arrangements were
in the hands of Shakespeare and
Sons, of Dubbo, and the Rev Cald-
well officiated at the graveside,
after a service at All Saints' Church
of England, Dunedoo. One of the
largest funerals seen at Dunedoo
for many years, was mute testi-
mony, to the esteem in which the
late John Nott was held.

A Popular Wedding
NOTT— YEO.
A very pretty wedding was solem-
nised by Rev. W. T. Hotston on
Tuesday last at the residence of Mr.
John Yeo, of "Wattle Vale,"
Dunedoo, the contracting par-
ties being Ada, eldest dau-
ghter of Mr. and Mrs. John
Yeo, and John Henry, third son of
the late John Nott. The bride, who
was given away by her father, wore
a fascinating gown of ivory tinted
duchess satin. The bodice was of
Irory ninon, draped with honiton
lace. She wore the customary
wreath and veil, and carried a beau-
tiful circle of orange blossoms. She
also wore a gold brooch, the gift of
the bridegroom. The bride's pre-
sent to the bridegroom was a gold
watch chain. Miss Allie Yeo acted as
bridesmaid. She was dressed in a
dainty dress of white silk, with trim-
mings to match. She received from
the bridegroom a gold necklace. Mr.
Geo. Patterson acted as best man.
The wedding breakfast was partaken
of at the residence, where the usual
toasts were proposed and honored.
The happy couple left by the mail
train the same day to spend their
honeymoon in Katoomba and Syd-
ney. The presents were an excellent
collection and very valuable.
