      MR FRED GARDINER,
We regret to report the death of Mr
Frederick (" Dick ") Gardiner, third
son of Mr. and Mrs E Gardiner, of Lime-
stone, which occurred in the local
Hospital on Sunday last at the early
age of 25 years. A few years ago
deceased had a severe attack of rheu-
matic fever, and never fuily recovored
from its effects, though when his illness
assumed a serious turn it was not
thought the end was so near. The
deceased took an active part and in-
terest in various forms of athletic
sport, and the funeral which took place
on Monday afternoon was largely at-
tended. The remains were laid to rest
in the Roman Catholic section of the
local cemetery, the Rev. Father Cam-
pion officiating at the grave. With
a wide circle of friends we join in
      tendering the bereaved family the
deepest sympathy in the great loss they
      have sustained.
