THE sudden death is reported of Mr. Thomas Kealey, railway employee, of Armidale-road. Mr. Kealey had been in failing health for some time,
and had consulted Dr. Cooper, who disoovered that he was suffering from fatty degeneration of the heart, and advised him to discard work al together. Mr. Kealey hesitated about adopting so serious a step, and thought perhaps that if he obtained a holiday it would answer the purpose. In order to obtain this it was necessary to get a certificate from the railway doctor at West Maitland, whom he went down to consult on Thursday last. That official, after examination, told him, so it is reported, that there was noth- ing the matter with him, and that the authorities in Tamworth were deserving of censure for sen- ding a man to obtain a certificate when in such good health (reports the Tamworth 'News'). Kealey returned to his home, well pleased with the doctor's fiat, and remarked on Sunday that he never felt better In his life. He was to re- sume work on Monday morning, but when mem- bers of his family went to his bedside to call him they were shocked to find that life was ex- tinct, and he had apparently been dead some time.
