The death of Mrs Ann Stevenson, relict
of the late William Stevenson, of North
Richmond, which took place on Saturday
last, removes one of the oldest residents of
the district. The late Mrs Stevenson was
a native of Richmond, and 84 years of age
at the time of her death. For several years
past she had been a sufferer with rheumat
ism, and during the past eighteen months
was unable to leave her bed, so her end
came as a happy release to her long suffer
ing. The deceased leaves a family of four,
all of whom have married and have famil
ies. They are : Mr Henry Stevenson, J.P.,
of North Richmond ; Mr Edwin Stevenson,
of Richmond ; Mr Robert Stevenson, of
Sydney ; and Mrs W. Biddle, of Richmond.
The funeral took place on Sunday, the
remains being taken to Richmond and in
terred in the C. of.E. cemetery. Rev. H.
Fryer and Rev. H. Jones conducted the
burial service, and Mr Albert Price was
the undertaker. The deceased lady was
widely known and highly respected through
out the Hawkesbury, and none are held in
higher esteem than her family and their
children, who are all admired and respected
for their steady habits and upright charac
ters. She was one of the old landmarks of
the district, and many an unfortunate was
befriended and helped by her, and coun
selled wisely for their own good.
