    • An appeal case in which George Bcnabo, a commission agent and bookmaker, appealed ugainat a decision of the Prahran magistrates, ordering him to pay his wife, Lily Benabo, 2 per week for maintenance, was decided at the Melbourne General Sessions Court yesterday, Mr, Donovan appeared for the appellant, and Mr Morgan for the respondent 'the case for the respondent was that the appellant had behaved m a very cruel manner towards her during their married life, which ex tended ovei a period of l8 months, and had eventually turned her out ot his house, llvidence was given on the other band to the effect that the appellant bud always behaved liberally and well towards his wife, that she had a veri bad temper and wus too much iiddtcccd to drinking brandy and champagne, that ahe lind left him on three occasions without any substan- tial cause, and that he had never turned her out of his house, and was quite willing to support her if she would only live with
