      OSMOND — STEVENSON
      The unusually large number of
eager people congregate at the residence
of Mr Joseph Robson in Brown Street
      on Monday afternoon last be-
      tokened some extraordinary event, in
      progress. Inquiry elicited the fact
that it was no other than that event
over old yet ever new in civilised
social life - the binding together of
hearts that love. The central figures
in that Interesting scene were Mr Albert
      Osmond, blacksmith, Gloucester,
      and Miss Phoebe Stevenson both
well known in this district, - the Rev.
      D. M. Benjamin being the officiating
minister. The bride; who was prettily
attired in cream voile with orange
blossoms and veil, was, given away by
her father, Mr H. Stevenson, and was
      attended by Miss Chr...... Collison
      in cream voile and chiffon...
      and bridesmaid also.....
      gold brooch and bang......
      gifts of the bridegroom
      Hill performed the d
      man. After the
sat down to a spread pr
      Robson's best style, and
have tasted of that lady's culinary
      products will comprehend what excel
lence that denotes. In fact the tables
decorated with a choicer collection of
      white roses and chrysanthemums, pre
sented for the occasison by Mrs J.
      Rapson, Chichester) commanded the
      admiration of all present,-and could
only be regarded by tho bridegroom as
a signal mark of respect to .him as an
old boarder in the house:. In due
course, the Rev. Mr. Benjamin in
felicitous terms propnsed the health of
the Bride and bridegroom which -
Mr J. Gardiner ably and eulogi^tically
supported, followed by Ald. McLaugh- : .
lin who, at the suggestion of the rev.
chairman, offered some words of ad
vice as an experienced BdnfflBbt,. par
ticularly impressing on them that they
must not both get angry at the same
      time. The bridegroom gratefully and
feelingly responded. Mr Hill in a
      gallant speech proposed the Brides
maid, Mr Gardiner as gallantly re
sponding on behalf of Miss Guliispn,
Mr Gardiner spoke in glowing terms of
the luncheon provided, paying a great
      compliment to Mrs Robsbn, which
      Ald. Mclaughlin acknowlodged in the
name of the hostess. Before dispersal,
Mr E. Marsh, sen., seized the oppor
tunity of expressing his high opinion '
of the bride and bridegroom, speaking
in the most laudatory terms of both.
      The presents were numerous and
      varied. The bride's travelling dress
was grey voile, the happy couple leav
ing in the afternoon for Gloucester,
Long life and happiness to Mr and.
      Mrs Osmond.
